Roads around the Houses of Parliament have been closed as authorities deal with a "suspicious package" discovered in the area.

It has been reported a security threat has been discovered in the area in central London. The nature of the incident is currently unknown, although police officers are still at the scene.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police told the : "On Thursday, 27 February police were called to Victoria Tower Gardens, SW1 at 11:37hrs following reports of suspicious package.
