Does 'Tumbbad 2' have ₹100cr budget? Sohum Shah breaks silence

It was recently reported that Tumbbad 2 will be made on a massive ₹100cr budget.
Now, Sohum Shah, the film's lead actor, has addressed these rumors.
In an interview with Fever FM, he said, "I don't know how much Tumbbad 2 is being made for, but it's true that part 2 is an expensive film because our effort is to make it better than the first part."

Shah also revealed that even before Tumbbad's re-release, they were prepared with a healthy budget for the sequel.
"Even before the re-release of part 1, we were ready with a good budget. The producer called me and asked how much budget I wanted, but I told them there was no script."
"We struggled for six years and part 1 was released and became a hit; for people, box-office numbers don't matter," he added.

Shah also confirmed that the sequel finally has a script and will start filming by the end of 2025.
Released in 2018, the original Tumbbad had tanked at the box office but caught attention after a re-release.
The dark-visuals and unique storytelling film had collected ₹31.35 crore during re-release, taking its total Indian box office collection to ₹37.75 crore.

The film narrates the tale of a greedy family cursed by their lust as they look for the hidden treasure of Hastar, the firstborn of a goddess.
This mythological tale had audiences spellbound and left everyone waiting for a sequel.
