According to the approval received in the Jharkhand Cabinet meeting, instead of running 10 km for constable recruitment, male candidates will have to complete a 1600-meter race in 6 minutes. At the same time, female candidates will have to finish the 1600-meter race in 10 minutes.
What were the rules for constable recruitment earlier?
Last year, many candidates who ran for constable recruitment lost their lives. According to the information, 12 candidates died while running. After which there was a lot of uproar. The doctor was also not able to know the cause of death. Expert doctors were also very upset about the cause of death. This change will provide relief to the candidates. Earlier, men had to run 10 km in 1 hour to qualify. Whereas women had to run 5 km in 40 minutes. Vacancies have been announced for 583 posts in 2024.

Apart from this, the Jharkhand Cabinet has changed the provisions regarding the obligation of three years of mandatory service for doctors doing PG from medical colleges. Along with this, amendments have been made to the Sevika Sahayika selection rules. Approval has also been given to install a nine-foot statue of Lord Birsa in the Birsa Munda Biological Park located in Ormanjhi and to spend a total of Rs 25 lakh on it.
