The central government is giving subsidy to farmers for installing solar pumps. Under this, small and marginal farmers are getting financial help to install solar pumps. Through this scheme, farmers can take advantage of cheap and clean energy. Its objective is to make farmers self-reliant and modernize their farming. In such a situation, under the Kusum scheme, farmers can fulfill the water needs in their fields with solar pumps and use renewable energy.
You can apply till 2 April
Interested farmers can apply till April 2 to make their agriculture-based work easier and cheaper through solar power plants. Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited is solarizing 3188 agricultural or mixed feeders connected to 962 power substations, so that the farmers here can get the benefit of PM Kusum Yojana. Farmers can either avail this benefit themselves or can also give it on lease/rent. About 4 acres of land is required to set up a 1 MW solar plant.
