Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A massive fire broke out in the three-story house of a municipal engineer in Gwalior’s Shri Vihar Colony, Bahodapur, on Wednesday.

Within minutes, the fire engulfed the entire house, destroying all household belongings worth lakhs. Fortunately, the engineer and his family managed to escape in time, saving their lives.

As soon as the fire broke out, the engineer immediately informed the fire brigade and the police. In response, five fire tenders were sent to the spot.

No casualties reported

Firefighters took nearly two hours to control the flames using water jets. No casualties were reported in the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was caused by a short circuit in the electrical wiring.

Short circuit suspected

According to Fire Brigade Officer Atibal Singh Yadav, the control room received a fire emergency call from municipal engineer Brajkishore Tyagi on Wednesday. Initially, four fire tenders were dispatched, but due to the intensity of the fire, an additional vehicle was sent.

After hours of effort, the fire was finally brought under control. Thankfully, there were no injuries or fatalities, but the house and all belongings were completely destroyed. Officials suspect that a short circuit was the reason behind the fire.
