In order to boost tourism, the Pune forest department has launched a grassland safari in Boramani village, Solapur. The safari offers visitors a chance to witness wolves, Indian jackals, Bengal foxes, blackbucks, wild boars, and a diverse array of butterfly species in their natural habitat.


The initiative seeks to support local communities by generating employment and promoting sustainable tourism practices.


To enhance the visitor experience, the forest department has introduced essential amenities, including machan accommodations for overnight stays, drinking water, and toilet facilities. However, visitors must arrange their own transport, as the safari does not provide dedicated vehicles.


As per reports, the grassland safari operates in two slots: morning (6:30 AM to 10:30 AM) and afternoon (3:30 PM to 6:30 PM). A limited number of vehicles are allowed at a time to ensure minimal disturbance to the wildlife and ecosystem. The safari charges range from INR 1,100 to INR 1,500.
