New Zealand vs Pakistan ODI: New Zealand has announced the team for the three-match ODI series against Pakistan. Uncapped Nick Kelly and Muhammad Abbas have been included in the team.

Kelly has performed brilliantly in domestic cricket this season and has scored 1300 runs across all formats. 31-year-old Kelly can open the innings with Will Young in this series. Openers Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra are not part of this series due to playing IPL.

At the same time, 21-year-old all-rounder Abbas, who shifted from Pakistan to New Zealand, has been rewarded for his excellent performance in the Ford Trophy.

Leg-spinner Adi Ashok, who made his debut against Bangladesh in December 2023, has also got a chance. Only 8 members of the team that reached the final of the Champions Trophy earlier this month have been selected. Many players are not part of the team due to playing IPL. Kane Williamson has also not been selected because he was not available for selection in the series.

Fast bowler Matt Henry, who was injured during the Champions Trophy, has also been ruled out of this series due to shoulder injury and left knee problem. Kyle Jamieson is also not part of the team due to workload management. Tom Latham will captain the team in the absence of Mitchell Marsh.

The first match of the ODI series will be played in Napier on March 29, after which the second ODI will be held in Hamilton and the third and last match will be held in Mount Maunganui. Currently, a series of five T20 International matches is being played between the two teams.
