AM/NS India Starts Purchasing Land in Andhra Pradesh to Establish an Integrated Steel Plant

March 29, Mumbai, Maharashtra, and Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, India: As part of its intentions to establish a cutting-edge integrated steel factory in Rajayapeta, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) today announced the start of the purchase of a land parcel in the Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh. The firm may now start working on the greenfield project since the first payment for the land acquisition has been received and ownership is anticipated shortly.

With an initial capacity of 7.3 MTPA, the project reaffirms AM/NS India’s commitment to supporting local manufacturing in accordance with the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ plan and helping India achieve its national goal of reaching 300 MTPA crude steel capacity by 2030.

In addition to providing a significant number of job possibilities, this massive steel factory will promote socioeconomic growth in the surrounding areas. Nara Lokesh, the Minister of IT and HRD and the chairman of the task group tasked with creating 20 lakh employment in Andhra Pradesh, praised the action and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expediting commercial transactions and easing AM/NS’s entrance into the state.

AM/NS India is persistently seeking expansion prospects around the nation, expanding its presence and propelling the nation’s infrastructure development. Its main facility at Hazira, Gujarat, is expanding from its present 9 MTPA to 15 MTPA, and this growth is going smoothly. Plans are in the works to establish an integrated steel facility in Odisha, where the corporation already has a sizable presence.
