The P4 program, a revolutionary endeavor to end poverty in Andhra Pradesh, was introduced by the state administration on Sunday.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, speaking at a public gathering, likened this project to his idea of creating Hyderabad’s HiTec City, which helped the city become a worldwide player. “I am confident that P4, which was launched on Ugadi, will make Andhra Pradesh a national model and eradicate poverty,” he said.

Naidu attributed his development as a strong leader to his tutelage under former Chief Minister and TDP founder N. T. Rama Rao. He called the P4 project a “Sanjeevini” for the Telugu community and said it was inspired by the overwhelming mandate for the NDA coalition.

Naidu underlined that the P4 approach is necessary since government welfare programs alone cannot end poverty. 20 lakh beneficiaries have been identified in Phase I under the guiding mantras of “Bangaru Kutumbam” and “Margadarsi.”

He highlighted the value of assistance and mentoring by introducing two families on stage as the first beneficiaries: Emanuel, a construction worker, and Narsimha from Mangalagiri.

He gave the example of how, in spite of societal restrictions, scientist Siva Subramaniam Iyer guided APJ Abdul Kalam, greatly influencing his destiny. He also said that the Maharajah of Baroda, Sayaji Rao III, and his Marathi Brahmin instructor, Krishnaji Keshav Ambedkar, had an impact on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s metamorphosis.

P4 seeks to give two million “Golden Families” fresh hope by bridging the divide between the rich and the poor. The program supports the ‘Swarnandhra@2047 Vision Document,’ which aims to make Andhra Pradesh’s GDP worth $2.4 trillion. The goal of eliminating poverty within five years is a fundamental component of this vision.

Many prosperous people, like businessman Krishna Reddy, want to give back to society but lack formal channels, Naidu said. This goodwill is efficiently channeled via the “Zero Poverty – P4” campaign.

As part of this program, wealthy families (Margadarsi) would adopt impoverished families (Golden Families) and provide financial support and mentoring. For smooth communication and translation assistance, the platform makes use of “Bhashini” language services, which were created by the Indian government’s Ministry of Electronics & IT. Naidu was hopeful that P-4 would establish a long-lasting strategy for ending poverty and promoting an inclusive and thriving Andhra Pradesh.
