Having secured an all-India rank of 96 in the UPSC CSE 2013, Nidhi was selected for the Indian Foreign Service. Prior to her current role, she served as Assistant Commissioner in Varanasi and has been with the PMO since January 6, 2023, after working as Under Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs' Disarmament and International Security Affairs Division.

Nidhi Tiwari resides in Mahmoorganj, located in PM Modi's Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi. Reports indicate that she received the Gold Medal for Best Officer Trainee during her training in the Foreign Service. In her capacity as PM Modi's personal secretary, she will oversee his daily administrative tasks, meetings, and arrangements for international trips.

In her role as the personal secretary to the Prime Minister, Nidhi Tiwari will receive a salary aligned with Pay Matrix Level-14, amounting to Rs 1,44,200 per month. Additionally, she will benefit from allowances such as dearness, housing, and travel, bringing her total monthly earnings to approximately Rs 2 lakh, along with various other perks.
