Popular Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui landed in hot water after comments he made about women on a TV show, suggesting that a woman’s feet reveal her character.
The controversy was sparked during his guest appearance on Geo TV’s comedy show Hansna Mana Hai. When asked by the host what he sees first in a woman, Adnan replied truthfully, “I look at her feet first.
He explained further that, in his opinion, a person’s hands and feet tell him about their cleanliness and personality as a whole.
“What is important to me is how clean someone is. Everything else comes second,” he explained.
He added further, “Apart from feet, nothing else really matters to me — just that the girl is alive, that’s enough.
The actor’s peculiar remarks soon gained viral traction and invited massive criticism on social media. Several users called the remarks inappropriate and insensitive, pointing out that public figures like him should be more responsible with their words given their age, position, and following.
Others criticized the tone of his remarks, stating that a senior actor must speak with maturity and dignity, while others contended that such remarks, even expressed in jest, are in bad taste.
Adnan Siddiqui has not yet made a public response or clarification on the backlash.
Earlier, Adnan Siddiqui stirred controversy with a questionable remark during an appearance on Nida Yasir’s morning show Shan e Suhoor.
When Nida joked about a fly being attracted to Adnan’s sweetness, he responded with a comparison between women and flies, suggesting that chasing women is futile.
“A fly and a woman are kind of the same examples,” he said. “The more you run after women, the more they run away from you. And when you sit like this (folds hand over his chest), they’ll come sit on your hand like this fly did.”
Despite Nida Yasir’s continuous efforts to stop Adnan from speaking, he continued saying, “When I was trying to catch the fly, it wasn’t coming into my hands. When I [sat back]it came and sat here.”
