Mumbai: A heavy storm hit Thane, Mumbra, Kalyan, and Dombivli on the evening of Friday, April 4, bringing strong winds and a duster that also affected Navi Mumbai. Visuals shared by residents showed heavy showers followed by dust-laden winds, with the storm moving rapidly from Kalyan towards Ulhasnagar and also heading towards Mumbai.

In response to the rising temperatures, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a heatwave alert for Mumbai and its neighbouring districts on Friday. The alert warns of hot and humid conditions in isolated pockets from April 5 to April 8, urging residents to take necessary precautions against the heat.

In a recent post shared by the IMD on X, it stated, "Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rain are likely at isolated places in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada districts with winds gusting up to 30-40 kmph."

Today's AQI in Mumbai is 90, which indicates satisfactory air quality in the city. Some people who are less sensitive to air pollution may also have problems. Sensitive people may face more problems. The higher the AQI, the higher the level of air pollution and the greater the health concern. An AQI of 50 or less indicates good air quality, while an AQI of more than 300 indicates hazardous air quality.

The weather department forecasts the city's temperature to range between a minimum of 27°C and a maximum of 34°C. Humidity levels are expected to be around 61%, with winds blowing from the West at a speed of 19 km/h.
