Maharaj Premanand Ji Ekantik Vartalap: One of India’s most well-known and revered spiritual gurus is Shri Hit Premanand Ji Maharaj of Vrindavan. His followers greatly admire his knowledge and often turn to him for advice on spiritual and personal development issues. Followers have the unique opportunity to ask him direct questions and gain guidance on both spiritual and personal issues during Ekantik Vartalap meetings.
In one of his most recent talks, Shri Premanand Ji Maharaj addressed a question that often crosses the minds of female devotees: Should ladies continue their pilgrimage and visit temples if they begin to menstruate while traveling? His astute and perceptive response is counsel derived from commitment and comprehension. Shri Hit Premanand Ji Maharaj’s official Instagram account, Bhajan Marg, shares the response to this query as an Instagram movie.
Maharaj Ji emphasized in his response that all women experience menstruation as a natural biological function. It is an essential component of the divine design of the human body and is neither immoral nor deplorable. He said that a lady does not have to feel discouraged or unworthy of God’s darshan if she happens to receive her period while on pilgrimage. Going on a pilgrimage requires a lot of labor and attention, and one should not let normal body processes like menstruation prevent one from seeking the Lord’s darshan.
Maharaj Ji did, however, also go over certain polite customs to observe during this period. According to him, before ladies approach the shrine, they must perform a ceremonial cleaning by dousing themselves in Ganga water. They may have darshan from a distance, keeping a respectful distance from the deity, even if they are unable to enter the sanctum or immediately give flowers and prasad. This approach honors the holiness of the temple as well as the natural functions of the body.
Menstruation shouldn’t be seen as a hindrance to religious activities, he further said. Women may engage in religious activities at this period, such as meditation, singing bhajans, and chanting the name of the Lord. Even if certain rituals are temporarily stopped during menstruation, they aid in maintaining the spiritual connection and keeping the attention focused on the divine.
Maharaj Ji also provided a profound understanding of the various perspectives on menstruation. In this video, he also explains that, according to old customs, women bear a significant portion of the blame for Indra’s transgression, which is why their bodies experience menstruation. Women see this as a noble sacrifice; thus, menstruation should no longer be seen as a sign of dirt but rather as a sign of sensitivity and strength.
Regardless of their menstrual cycle, women may continue on their spiritual journey with self-assurance and dedication, according to the teachings of Shri Premanand Ji Maharaj. According to his teachings, a balanced practice prevents excluding any devotee from the path of devotion due to physical natural processes and permits respect for religious rituals with acceptance of nature’s rhythms to the body.
