The cinema can be described as a reunion in the field of cinema, whose fans have been waiting for a long time, actor Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam coming together once again for the much -awaited film “Thug Life” after nearly four decades. His previous cooperation, Naikan (1987) remains a milestone in Indian cinema – and now, Haasan credits fans as the only inspiring power to fans behind this monumental team -up.

Speaking at the launch of the first single of the film, Kamal considered his bond with Mani Ratnam. “Nothing has changed between Mani and me. We used to have big dreams sitting on a bike parked on Aldams Road. We have completed only 25% of what we had discussed – Nayakan and now the thug life,” he said freshly.
Accepting the delay in his reunion, the veteran actor admitted, “We are not able to come together for so many years, we are the reason ourselves. Now we are here, the reason for this you are – fans. When the audience gives a verdict, the industry follows it. You have picked us up on our shoulders for so long, and we have not realized it. We can only apologize.”

In the thug life, Kamal Haasan is in the role of Rangaraya Shaktivale Nayakan, which is described as “an epic story of power, rebellion and victory”. Directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Madras Talkies, the film also stars Silambasan, Trisha, Jujo George, Ashok Selvan and Abhiram.
Music composition AR Along with Rahman and Ravi's Chandran behind the camera, the technical team also includes editor Srikar Prasad and stunt pair Anbariva. A full audio launch is scheduled on 16 May, and the entire team will be present in a concert in Australia.
When the two cinematic veterans come together again, the thug life not only promises a film, but also a hearty gesture for fans who kept the dream alive.
