Real Reales: Bollywood film Piku is once again ready to win the hearts of the audience in theaters. On completion of 10 years, its release is being brought to theaters once again on May 9, 2025. On this special occasion, actress Deepika Padukone shared a emotional post on social media, in which she remembered the film and the heavenly Irrfan Khan and wrote that this film will always be closest to her heart.
Deepika shared a video on Instagram in which megastar Amitabh Bachchan is seen talking about his character Bhaskar Banerjee's journey. In the video, some memorable moments of the film were also shown, which will once again connect the audience with emotions.
Deepika Padukone shared the video on Instagram and wrote in the caption, "Piku is returning to theaters on May 9, 2025 to celebrate its 10th anniversary, this film will always be in my heart. They wrote further"Irfan, we miss you … and we think of you all the time."
Let me tell you that Irfan was detected of neuroendocrine cancer in 2018 and died in 2020.
The Piku film was released in theaters for the first time on May 8, 2015. This is a slice-off-life comedy drama directed by the director Shoojit Sarkar. The film featured Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan in the lead roles. Also, experienced artists like Moushumi Chatterjee, Jishu Sengupta and Raghubir Yadav also played important roles.
The film not only won the hearts of the audience but also received tremendous appreciation from critics. Made in a budget of ₹ 40 crore, this film earned more than ₹ 140 crore worldwide. The depth of acting, screenplay and dialogues made it a memorable cinema.
Piku won many national and Filmfare Awards. Amitabh Bachchan received the National Award for Best Actor for his character Bhaskar Banerjee, which was his fourth National Award. Juhi Chaturvedi received two National Awards for the best original script and best dialogue.
Apart from this, the film won five Filmfare Awards Deepika Padukone, the best actress (Critics), Amitabh Bachchan as Best Actor (Critics), Shoojit Sarkar to Best Film (Critics), Juhi Chaturvedi for Best Screw and Anupam Roy was awarded for Best Background Score.
