According to the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) spokesperson, the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham will be opened on 2 May this year. On this day, the doors of Shri Tungnath Temple (III Kedar) will also open. Preparations for the administration and temple committee are in full swing to open both the dhams.
Just two days after Kedarnath, i.e. on May 4, the doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened to the devotees. Badrinath Dham is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is considered to be the last stop of the Char Dham Yatra. One of the four Kedars, the doors of Shri Madmaheshwar Temple will be opened this time on 21 May. Its date was decided after a special meeting held at Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath.
The advance team of the temple committee has already reached Kedarnath Dham and is taking stock of the place. Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal himself is conducting terrestrial inspection of temples and rest houses, so that the passengers do not have any inconvenience. Char Dham Yatra includes Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. It is believed that this journey should be done in the direction of the clock needle. This is the reason that the journey starts from Yamunotri and ends at Badrinath.
