Kesari Chapter 2, featuring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday in lead roles was released on April 18, 2025. The plot is based on the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, helmed as a courtroom drama as a sequel to the hit film Kesari (2019).
Supported by Dharma Productions, Kesari 2 has minted Rs 6.75-7.25 crore on the first day. It features the “untold story” of C Sankaran Nair, and have been touted an A-rated movie with a run time of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Endorsed with facts from the past, captivating cinematography and the ensemble, the film has reached maximum audience through word of mouth. The film is based on a book called The Case That Shook The Empire.
Karan Johar has supposedly claimed it to be his best work of all times. It is currently cherishing a solo release which was otherwise clashing with The Bhootnii, that is postponed to May 1.
Notably, during its theatrical run, Akshay Kumar’s last film, Sky Force, opened at Rs 13.75 crore but Kesari, earned Rs 20.5 crore net.
The superstar will be next seen in Housefull 5, Jolly LLB 3, and Welcome To The Jungle.
