Vande Bharat sleeper train: Indian Railways is continuously working on the facilities for passengers. For quite some time there has been an effort regarding the Vande Bharat sleeper train. However it has not yet been launched on any route. Now the railways are preparing to start the Vande Bharat sleeper train soon. This train will run on several important routes including Delhi and Howrah. Currently no official information has been released regarding the date.
The Vande Bharat sleeper train has been built using the technology of BEML and Integral Coach Factory. Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated this train in September 2024. The Vande Bharat sleeper train will cover a distance of 1449 kilometers from Delhi to Howrah. This journey will be completed in less than 15 hours with this train. The maximum speed of the train will be 160 kilometers per hour making it faster than the Rajdhani and Duronto Express.
Thus it will be the fastest train on this route. Currently the Rajdhani takes 17 hours and Duronto takes 17.40 hours to complete this journey.
Delhi-Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper stops
According to a report published in TOI the Vande Bharat sleeper will halt at several major stations between New Delhi and Howrah. These include Kanpur Central Prayagraj Junction DD Upadhyay Junction Gaya Junction Dhanbad Junction and Asansol Junction.
Vande Bharat Sleeper fare
The Vande Bharat sleeper train will have 16 coaches including 11 AC 3-tier coaches 4 AC 2-tier coaches and one first-class AC coach. As for the fares the AC 3-tier fare is expected to be around 3000 rupees the AC 2-tier fare at 4000 rupees and the first-class AC fare at 5100 rupees. This fare will provide passengers with a comfortable and swift travel experience.
Vande Bharat sleeper train timing
The Vande Bharat sleeper train will depart from New Delhi (NDLS) at 5 PM (17:00) and reach Howrah Junction the next morning at 8 AM. On the return journey the train will depart from Howrah Junction at 5 PM and arrive in New Delhi the next morning at 8 AM. The timings are convenient for passengers as the journey will take place at night and they will reach their destination in the morning.
