Sridevi was one of the finest actors that the Bollywood industry had. She had contributed so much to Indian cinema that despite her being gone for years now the audience still remembers her with love and affection. While Sridevi during her career span worked with plenty of actors there was one with whom she did not share good terms. The late actress was shooting for Umesh Mehras Guru and that’s when she had to knock on the door of the court after a scene. Yes you read that right! Let us shed more light on the incident. In the film Guru where Sridevi shared the screen with Mithun Chakraborty the actress had to kiss the actor. According to a report in Stardust (1989) Umesh Mehra got into trouble when Sridevi demanded the scene be removed. The actress had first said yes to the scene but later refused. As per NDTV during that time both Mithun and Sridevis relationship ended on a sour note. As a result the actress asked Umesh to cut the kissing scene from the script. Not just that she even went on to warn Umesh about the consequences if the scene was not removed. Sridevis father was not only a lawyer but also a member of Congress-I. The actress parents ensured that not only the kiss scene but also her film Guru was banned. The release of the film was delayed for a long time as Sridevi did not want the scene to be kept in the film. After the controversy took place Stardust reached out to Sridevi for her comment on the same. However the actress kept quiet. It was her mother who opened up on the matter. She said Umesh Mehra has cheated us. We refused to give the kiss right from the beginning so he took some extras and shot the scene. He cannot do that. It is not allowed. To hell with how he gets extras to do anything and show it as if Sridevi has done it! Tell him to remove the scene from the film and we will allow the film to be released.
