BCCI Central Contract 2025 Latest News in Hindi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced an annual Central Contract for the Indian men's team on Monday, April 21. The BCCI has included 34 players in the annual Central Contract for the period of October 2024-September 2025. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have been included in the A Plus category. The list has increased by two players, while the number of players contracted was 30 last time. R Ashwin was not included in this list, who retired from international cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy last year. At the same time, Ishaan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer have returned in the annual contract.
Rishabh Pant (who was in Grade B till last year) has been promoted and replaced by Ashwin in Grade A, while Shreyas Iyer (Shreyas Iyer BCCI Central Contract) is back in the retainership list in grade B. Iyer had lost his place in the central contract list with Ishaan Kishan, but both returned after continuous performance in domestic cricket. Iyer spent a brilliant year with a win as captain in the IPL and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, became a permanent member of the ODI team and recently, he was chosen for the ICC Player of the Month for March after being India's highest run player in the Champions Trophy title.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, Akash Deep, Abhishek Sharma, Varun Chakraborty and Harshit Rana were the new players representing India in all formats in the last 12 months. Akash Deep and Nitish Reddy became a regular player of the Test, while Rana made his three formats debut for India. Similarly, Chakraborty made his ODI debut after harassing the batsmen in T20I and was one of the craftsmen of India's Champions Trophy, while Abhishek Sharma has made the T20 opener position with Sanju Samson.
Interestingly, Ishaan Kishan, named in Grade C, has not played any match for India since November 2023, but has played domestic cricket in all formats for Jharkhand in the 2024-25 season. Kishan started the 2025 edition of the IPL by scoring a century in 45 balls against Rajasthan Royals for Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Iyer has lost his form a little in the last few matches, leading three half -centuries, leading Punjab Kings.
Apart from Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan, Jitesh Sharma and KS Bharat were also excluded from the contract for 2024-25 session.
