Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai actress Shubhangi Atres former husband Piyush Poorey passed away on Saturday after battling liver cirrhosis. The couple married for 22 years finalised their divorce on February 5. While they were reportedly not in contact Shubhangi is deeply saddened by the news. Acknowledging the difficult time she has requested space to grieve. A reliable source shared Shubhangi and Piyush were not on talking terms. However she is mourning. She has resumed shooting (for her TV show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) on Sunday. Piyush was a digital marketing professional. The two have a daughter named Ashi. Shubhangi Atre on divorce with Piyush Poorey Shubhangi had said TOI “It was painful. I was fully invested in the relationship. Over time Piyush and I developed irreconcilable differences. However now I’m out of that marriage and I feel a sense of peace as if a heavy burden has been lifted. Now I want to focus on my daughter and provide her with a happy and secure environment.” She also stated “It’s been almost a year since we are not living together. Piyush and I tried our best to save our marriage. Mutual respect companionship trust and friendship are the foundation of a strong marriage. However we eventually realised that we couldn’t resolve our differences and decided to give each other space and concentrate on our individual lives and careers.”
