In the ongoing fixture between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings at the National Stadium in Karachi, Khushdil Shah produced an impressive delivery to remove the opposition skipper Babar Azam for 46 off 41 balls. The dismissal came just as Babar looked set to anchor and possibly accelerate his side's innings.

Despite struggling early on against the bowling attack, Babar managed to find his way back into form, hitting seven boundaries in his 41-ball stay. However, just as he looked ready to capitalize, Shah delivered a quicker, flatter delivery on the middle stump.

Babar, trying to push it into the leg side, was struck plumb in front. The veteran batter quickly took a review, but there were three reds on the tracker, and he had to walk back just two runs before his potential fifty. His dismissal saw Zalmi's scorecard read 67/3 at the end of the 10th over.

Earlier in the match, the 30-year-old had survived a close call on the very second delivery he faced. Karachi pacer Mir Hamza bowled a length delivery that swung in and hit the batter on the front pad with the umpire raising his finger. However, the review came in 's favour, with the ball tracking showing it was just going over the stumps. Walking in alongside Saim Ayub to open the innings after Kings won the toss and opted to field, the right-hand batter looked to make a statement.

He had been suffering a rough patch in the ongoing season, scoring just  0, 1, and 2 in his previous three innings, aggregating a total of just 49 runs in four innings so far. Speaking further about the match, by the 17th over, Zalmi were struggling at 118/6, with Karachi Kings having the upper hand. Khushdil had already bagged three wickets, including those of Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Mitchell Owen in addition to Babar's.
