Delhi: Australian legendary cricketer Steve Waugh has made important remarks about the captaincy of Indian captain Rohit Sharma. He believes that Rohit now needs to introspect. If he wants to continue his contribution in Indian cricket, he should not be confident. Also, they should take any decision regarding the captaincy, especially before the upcoming Test series against England.

Look at yourself by looking at the mirror

Steve Waugh says that only Rohit can take a decision regarding India's captaincy. They have to ask themselves whether he is still fully prepared and committed for this role? Can he give the time and energy necessary to lead the Indian team? Waugh said that playing for our country is a great honor and this responsibility should not be taken lightly.

Rohit Sharma will be 38 years old soon

Steve Waugh further said, Rohit Sharma will turn 38 on April 30. His performance in recent times has not been special in Test cricket. His form was weak in the last three Test series against Bangladesh, New Zealand and Australia. He also decided to stay out of the Sydney Test earlier this year, in which India had to face 1-3 defeat.

World Test Championship starts

India will launch the new cycle of the 2025-27 World Test Championship (WTC) with the Test series against England in June. Before this important occasion, Rohit Sharma will have to decide whether he will continue the captaincy or not. Waugh says that it is not right for any player to be self -conscious at this level and Rohit should decide whether he is still in a position to take the team forward.
