In 2025, there has been a worrying increase in cases of brain stroke in various cities of India. This increase is more especially in the young age group, which is caused by lifestyle risks and environmental factors. Last year, 22 people got brain hemorrhage in Prayagraj in just 72 hours. Most of these patients were suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes or obesity and their blood pressure suddenly increased due to heat. Similarly, Ranchi -based Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) said that about 20% increase in brain hemorrhage cases has been recorded in the summer.
Between March and July 2024, 67,637 suspected cases of heat stroke were reported, in which 374 people died. Uttar Pradesh (52 deaths), Bihar (37), Odisha (26) and Delhi (25) were the most affected.
Doctors say that going in the sun immediately after leaving AC shocks the body's heat control system. This increases blood pressure rapidly and the brain blood vessels can burst.
In summer, allow the body to be molded according to the temperature, drink more water, keep the head covered and the patients of high blood pressure or diabetes should be special cautious. A little inadvertence in summer can cause major accidents. Being vigilant in this season is the greatest security.
