Summer has already begun, and with it comes the craving for cold treats. When it comes to children, ice cream tops the list of favourites. However, many store-bought ice creams contain adulterants and preservatives, which aren’t ideal for kids. If you’re looking to make a healthy, tasty ice cream at home that too without milk or sugar, banana ice cream is a perfect and easy option. It requires just a couple of ingredients and is so simple to make that children can join in too.
Ingredients
Ripe bananas: 3-4
Honey: 1-2 tsp
Vanilla essence: 2-3 drops
Chopped nuts or dark chocolate chips: to garnish
Recipe
Peel and cut the ripe bananas into small pieces.
Place the pieces in an airtight container and freeze for 4–5 hours or overnight.
Once frozen, blend the banana pieces in a mixer or food processor until a smooth, creamy texture is achieved. It may look thick at first but will become creamy as you blend.
Add honey or vanilla essence if desired, and blend again.
For a scoop texture, freeze the mixture again for 1–2 hours.
Garnish with chopped nuts or chocolate chips before serving.
Benefits
Completely natural and free from preservatives.
Dairy-free and sugar-free, making it a healthier option for children.
Bananas add natural sweetness and a creamy texture.
A nutritious treat that supports overall health.
