In a remarkable achievement, V Keerthi Vasan, the District Collector of Koraput, has received the esteemed Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration. This accolade recognizes his exceptional efforts in executing various Central government initiatives throughout 2024.

The award ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the honor during the Civil Services Day celebrations on Monday. Koraput was distinguished in the category of 'Holistic Development of Districts'.

Among 712 districts evaluated nationwide, only five were chosen for this prestigious recognition, with Koraput standing out as one of the top performers. The Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration is regarded as one of the highest honors for exemplary governance in India.

The district garnered accolades for its effective implementation of significant national programs, including the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan Abhiyaan, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, Kisan Credit Card scheme, Mission Indradhanush, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), Har Ghar Jal (Jal Jeevan Mission), and both urban and rural Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojanas.
