Students at Lucknow’s Darul Uloom Firangi Mahal held special prayers and made “duas” in remembrance of the tourists killed in the Pahalgam terrorist assault, praying that the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the country as a whole would be protected from violent attacks.
Maulana Khalid Rasheed of Farangi Mahali, a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), vehemently denounced Monday the tourist deaths in the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which has sparked outrage nationwide, and called for the punishment of those responsible while urging peace and harmony among communities.
“We demand that the Indian government make sure the murderers get harsh punishment. We urge Pahalgam residents to uphold communal unity and peace,” Maulana Rasheed told ANI.
Students from Darul Uloom Firangi Mahal here planned a special prayer, offering “duas” in the hopes that the nation’s citizens would be protected.
“The terrorist incident in Pahalgam is strongly condemned by us. To protect the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the country from any kind of terrorist assault, we have planned a special dua and prayers today by students at Shaheen Academy and Darul Uloom Firangi Mahal in Lucknow,” Rasheed said.
Kavinder Gupta, the former deputy chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, apologised for the deaths of tourists in the Pahalgam terrorist assault and blamed Pakistan for one of the worst terror strikes in Kashmir after the repeal of Article 370.
“This occurrence is very depressing. Kashmir has had around 500,000 visitors in the last three months. Gupta, the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), told ANI, “If we consider all these issues, the situation in Kashmir was very well managed, but this cowardly act by Pakistan is intolerable.”
He promised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are still committed to managing the crisis and that the situation in the Kashmir valley will soon return to normal.
The coffins of the terror attack victims were taken to the airport in Srinagar. To help casualties and visitors from their respective states return home, a number of state government officials have travelled to Srinagar.
Following the repeal of Article 370 in 2019, this has been one of the most significant acts of terrorism. However, the government has not yet officially confirmed how many people were killed in the Pahalgam terror assault.
In order to guarantee the safe return of visitors from the valley, Air India has added two extra flights to Delhi and Mumbai, which are set to fly today, while the number of tourists outside the Srinagar airport also rises. Some visitors have also chosen to shorten their visits due to the sensitive environment in the region.
Four additional flights, two to Delhi and two to Mumbai, have been organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. They are in contact with airlines to intensify their efforts in response to demand.
In light of the fatal assaults on visitors, the police administration has increased security by installing concertina wires. In order to do surveys and support the search efforts in Pahalgam, helicopters have been sent into the skies.
Security personnel began search operations on Wednesday in an effort to find the culprits behind the terror assault. Since the incident, security has been increased; photos taken in the vicinity show the streets in the normally busy tourist area vacant. In the wake of the incident, several groups have also called for a jammu bandh.
