Mumbai News: BMC Announces 24-Hour Water Supply Shutdown In Parts Of Ghatkopar And Kurla For Essential Pipeline Repairs; Check Details

Mumbai: The BMC has announced a 24-hour water supply shutdown in parts of Ghatkopar and Kurla due to essential pipeline repair work. The planned shutdown will begin at 10 AM on April 26 and continue until 10 AM on April 27. The civic authorities have urged residents in the affected areas to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during the shutdown period.

The BMC will undertake planned maintenance and repair work in Ghatkopar (West) on this Saturday. The work includes installation of a 1200 mm diameter valve on the 1500 mm main water pipeline near Sant Tukaram Bridge, installation of a 1400 mm valve on the inlet of the Ghatkopar High-Level Reservoir, as well as four cross connections (1200 mm x 600 mm, 1500 mm x 600 mm, 1500 mm x 300 mm [two]), and leakage repairs on two major pipelines measuring 1500 mm and 900 mm in diameter.

The areas that would be affected due the repair work on April 26 ...Ghatkopar (West) Areas: Bhatwadi, Barve Nagar, MCGM Quarters – A to K blocks, Kajutekdi, Ramji Nagar, Ram Joshi Marg, Azad Nagar, Akbarlala Compound, Parshiwadi, Sonia Gandhi Nagar, Shankar Mandir, Ram Nagar, Hanuman Mandir, Rahul Nagar, Kailas Nagar, Sanjay Gandhi Nagar, Varsha Nagar.

L ward: Asalfa Village, N.S.S. Road, Home Guard Colony, Narayan Nagar, Sane Guruji Udyan Center, Hill No. 3, Ashok Nagar, Himalaya Society, Sanjay Nagar, Samta Nagar, Gaiban Shah Baba Dargah Road

No water on April 27..Sangharsh Nagar, Khairani Road, Yadav Nagar, J.M.M. Road, Lakshminarayan Mandir Road, Kulkarni Wadi, Mohili Water Pipeline, Bhanushali Wadi, Perera Wadi.
