The stunned reaction of SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kavya Maran took social media by storm on Wednesday, April 23, following the fall of Nitish Kumar Reddy as the fourth batter to be dismissed in the clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The cameras caught her seemingly muttering as Reddy walked off with just a one-digit score.

There was a wicket in the fifth over, Reddy going for a drive off Deepak Chahar's full-length delivery, sending the ball to mid-on, where Mitchell Santner read it to perfection and gladly accepted a simple catch. Reddy departed after making just 2 runs from six balls faced.

Reddy has been very successful for SRH last year but with little successes this season. He has still not scored a single half-century with his highest contribution being just 32 runs at home versus Lucknow Super Giants. Nevertheless, he has had two other scores in the thirties. Before the loss of his wicket, SRH were already under pressure, having lost Travis Head (0), Abhishek Sharma (8), and Ishan Kishan (1).

Before facing MI, SRH had not registered more than two wins in seven matches. For their playoff chances to remain alive, they need to win at least six of their next seven matches. SRH opened its campaign with a whopping 286 runs against Rajasthan Royals, winning the opener by 44 runs.

That strong start was followed by four defeats. But they made a fantastic comeback by chasing down 246 against Punjab Kings, recording the second-highest run chase in history, with eight wickets in hand and more than an over to spare. MI skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first on Wednesday.

The five-time defending champions entered this contest on a hot streak, their fourth in succession, having won against the Delhi Capitals, SunRisers and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
