Mumbai Indians pacer Trent Boult was on a wicket-taking spree against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. After a few ordinary performances and wicketless matches, he registered his best bowling figures of 4/26 in front of the SRH. He dismissed Travis Head (0), Abhishek Sharma (8), Abhinav Manohar (43) and Pat Cummins (1). New Zealand pacer was adjudged the Player of the Match for playing a vital role in Mumbai’s seven-wicket win, overall fifth in the Indian Premier League 2025. The left-arm seamer was not retained by the Rajasthan Royals, and MI bought him for INR 12.50 crore in the mega auction.
He played for Mumbai in the past, but due to auction dynamics, the five-time champions had no option but to release him. Boult spoke to Harsha Bhogle after the contest and opened up on his bowling performance.
“It is always nice to contribute to a win. Restricting SRH on a decent total was the most satisfying thing for me. Deepak Chahal was brilliant upfront with the ball,” Trent Boult said.
Trent bowled two overs in the powerplay, one each in the middle and one in death. He gave a message to MI captain Hardik Pandya about his preference.
“I would love to bowl four overs in a row as the ball swings, but captain Hardik has different plans. I want to keep performing to take the team up in the points table,” he added.
Harsha asked about the secret of his longevity in the sport. “I love the feeling of competing and loves bowling against the best batters,” he concluded.
