The Yogi administration plans to honour Uttar Pradesh’s Sanskrit talent. Through a series of offline and online tests, the Sanskrit Pratibha Khoj and Sanskrit Adhyayan Protsahan Vritti program will introduce Sanskrit to gifted young people. The Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan will administer these tests in July and August at the district, division, and state levels.
A variety of rewards will be given to those who do very well. Students in grades six through twelve as well as graduates and postgraduates, are eligible to participate. Upsanskritpratibhakhoj.com has comprehensive details on the effort. First place receives Rs 11,000, second place receives Rs 7,000, third place receives Rs 5,000, and three consolation prizes of Rs 3,000 each are given out at the state level.
From the local to the state level, the program seeks to identify emerging Sanskrit potential. Online examinations will be administered from July 20 to July 31 and district-level exams from July 5 to July 31. August 5–13 will see division-level tests, while September 10–20 will see online exams before the state-level exam.
Tests in Sanskrit songs, general knowledge, shloka antyakshari, recitation of Ashtadhyayi, Amarakosha, Laghu Siddhanta Kaumudi, and Tarka Sangraha will be given to Category A (classes 6–12). General knowledge, speaking, and dictation in Sanskrit will be included in Category B (graduates and postgraduates).
This project, according to Dr. Vachaspati Mishra, the former president of Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan, “continues the effort to connect youth with Sanskrit, nurturing their hidden talents.” Prizes will also be awarded to division and district winners. Certificates will be given to each participant, and those who advance to the division and state levels will also receive travel costs and souvenirs.
