Uttar Pradesh has increased security after a terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Every security agency is on high alert, and public areas including bus and train stations, airports, and popular tourist and religious sites like Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kashi are now under more monitoring.
At these places, authorities have been instructed to step up inspections and keep a careful eye on anybody who seems suspect. Barricades and increased border checks have been put in place at Nepal’s and neighbouring nations’ borders.
Airports, metro stations, train and bus stations, shopping centres, multiplexes, marketplaces, key government buildings, and enterprises including roadside eateries, lodging facilities, and guesthouses have all seen an increase in police presence. Given the actions of terrorist groups and other organisations in neighbouring areas of other states, extra caution has been mandated for air, road, and train travel.
Authorities have been directed to keep a careful eye on social media and to take prompt action against anybody who posts anything that incites hostility against religion. Tenants in residential and newly built colonies have been thoroughly verified as part of the directive for local intelligence systems to become more active and efficient.
In order to address any unfavourable law and order circumstances or terrorist attacks, police stations and lines maintain quick reaction squads. After the incident, a high-level meeting ordered that suspicious people be watched more closely in every area and that even little details be shared with higher-ups.
Following the arrest of Khalistani terrorist Lazar Masih in Kaushambi during the Maha Kumbh, which exposed the state’s expanding terrorist network and the need for constant vigilance, Khalistani terrorist groups and the ISI thwarted a major assault plan.
