UEFA is considering to make some changes in the game laws and rules in the UEFA champions league from next season. There is an indication that UEFA is thinking of making the game better as they are considering taking out Extra time from the knockout stages. There is a proposal made that if there is a draw between the teams until the 90th minute, the game will be directly go to penalties instead of 30 minutes Extra-time. However, this is just a proposal and this hasn’t been proposed yet.

UEFA is reportedly exploring potential changes to the laws and format of the UEFA Champions League starting from next season. One of the most talked-about proposals under consideration is the removal of extra time in the knockout stages.

According to sources close to UEFA, there is an internal discussion about bypassing the traditional 30 minutes of extra time if a match ends in a draw after 90 minutes. Instead, matches would go straight to a penalty shootout to determine the winner. The aim behind this proposed change is to make the game more dynamic and less physically taxing for players, especially during a packed football calendar.

As of now, this rule change remains a proposal and has not been formally submitted or approved by UEFA. If it moves forward, it would represent a significant shift in one of the most prestigious tournaments in world football, potentially changing how teams approach high-stakes knockout matches.
