In Bihar’s Kaimur district, 2200 vaccinations have been distributed to protect 9–14-year-old females against cervical cancer. This would greatly strengthen the government’s current immunization program. Schools will identify and vaccinate eligible females, according to District Immunization Officer Dr. RK Chaudhary, who also validated the vaccination delivery.
To guarantee complete coverage for all girls in the target age range, the department will seek more immunizations once the present batch is finished. On January 20, the program’s first phase got underway with 240 vaccinations.
District Magistrate Sawan Kumar formally began the initiative on February 27 by supervising the immunization of five Kasturba Gandhi Residential School kids. The District Immunization Officer then reached out to the city’s schools to promote participation.
On March 4, teachers from Nagar Parishad Middle School finally managed to bring 29 pupils to the DIO office for vaccinations. 18 other girls from the same school were subsequently immunized.
Girls from different schools received 52 vaccinations on March 25, 73 vaccinations on April 8, and 13 vaccinations on April 9, while the remaining 50 vaccinations were given to girls in the Kudra block. A fresh request was made when the last batch ran out, and 2200 vaccinations were just delivered from Patna via the Aurangabad area.
