Hyderabad: Tech enthusiasts eagerly await the launch of Apple‘s iPhone 17 lineup, which is expected to be unveiled later this year.
Although the tech giant has not officially announced any details about the phone or its release date, several leaks and reports have been making the rounds well ahead of the much-awaited launch.
iPhone ‘Air’
If reports are to be believed, the iPhone 17 lineup will bring several notable design changes along with feature upgrades. Certain reports also suggest that Apple might introduce an all-new model called the iPhone 17 Air, a redesigned version of the Pro series.
The iPhone 17 ‘Air,’ as the name suggests, may be aimed at sleekness and a minimalistic design, in line with the MacBook Air and iPad Air devices.
Reports also suggest that the iPhone 17 Air will be the thinnest iPhone ever, measuring just 5.5 mm at its slimmest point — almost 3 mm thinner than the iPhone Pro, which is 8.25 mm thick.
End of Plus Variants?
It is also strongly rumoured that Apple is retiring the iPhone Plus lineup altogether. According to Apple watchers, the company may position the ‘Air’ variant as a mid-tier option to replace the Plus line, which has been receiving a lukewarm response in the market due to weak sales.
Wi-Fi 7 Support
The upcoming iPhones are expected to come with Wi-Fi 7 support, which will not only improve connectivity and offer faster speeds but may also make future repairs easier.

As for the most talked-about aspect of the next iPhone — its release timeline — the iPhone 17 lineup is expected to launch in September, as per Apple’s typical release schedule.
The iPhone 17 may start at a price of around ₹79,000 in India, though some reports indicate that Apple might increase the base-level price to ₹89,000 due to significant upgrades and ongoing global tariff uncertainties.
