Favorite K-Pop Artist Award Added againThis year, 2 years after the initial inaugural award was given to K-pop boy group BTS, the ‘Favorite K-pop Artist Award’ category has opened up yet again. Initially, the award was launched in 2022, where BTS took the crown for the first time; however, the award was not distributed in 2023 and 2024.

The award’s announcement comes along with the top contenders selected for the trophy as well. This year the nominees include boy group ATEEZ , Jimin of BTS, RM of BTS, Rosé of BLACKPINK, and boy group Stray Kids .

K-pop is reigning this award seasonAlong with this award, the K-pop wave has hit other categories as well. Rosé of BLACKPINK, along with the previous category, has also been nominated for the ‘Collaboration of the Year’ award as well. She scored the category nomination for her song ‘APT’ featuring Bruno Mars.

The award ceremony is set to be held on May 26. The ‘Favorite K-pop Artist Award’ category is solely based off of fan votes. This means that the AMAs have shared a link on which fans of all of the K-pop artists can visit and cast their votes.

Currently, Stray Kids, ATEEZ, and Rose are all actively working in the music industry on their own projects. However, Jimin and RM are both still in their last stages of mandatory military service. All of the BTS members are set to all be released by the end of June, marking a special date for fans around the world, as a reunion of the band seems to be in the cards soon.
