New Delhi: Yashasvi Jaiswal, representing Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, etched his name into the record books on Thursday (April 24) by achieving a remarkable feat. The dynamic left-hander became the first player ever to smash a six off the very first delivery of an IPL innings on three separate occasions—an unprecedented milestone in the tournament’s history.
Eight players have managed to clear the ropes on the very first delivery of an IPL innings, but 23-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal stands out as the only one to achieve this remarkable feat on three separate occasions.
Yashasvi Jaiswal walked out as the opener for the Riyan Parag-led Rajasthan Royals against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Chasing a target of 206, he made an explosive start by smashing the very first delivery from Bhuvneshwar Kumar over the boundary for a massive six.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently enjoying a sensational run with the bat for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. Across eight games this season, the Mumbai-born southpaw has accumulated 307 runs, including four impressive half-centuries. Having represented India in all three formats since his debut against the West Indies in July 2023, Jaiswal continues to be a pivotal figure for the Jaipur-based squad in their ongoing campaign.
Earlier in the match, Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag opted to field first after winning the toss. Batting first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru put up an impressive total of 205/5 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to solid contributions from Virat Kohli, who scored 70, and Devdutt Padikkal, who smashed a rapid 50 off just 27 balls. Kohli, during his knock, struck 8 boundaries and cleared the ropes twice, sharing a 61-run opening stand with Phil Salt (26) and following it up with a 95-run partnership alongside Padikkal.
This half-century marked Kohli’s fifth in the current IPL season and his 111th in T20 cricket overall — second only to Australia’s David Warner when it comes to the most 50+ scores in the format.
