Ekadashi has special significance in Hinduism, and a total of 24 Ekadashis are celebrated throughout the year. One of these is Varuthini Ekadashi, which is celebrated on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Vaishakh month. This Ekadashi is falling on 5 May in 2025. By fasting on this day, virtue is attained and special grace of Lord Vishnu is received. If some special measures to Tulsi Mata are taken on the day of Varuthini Ekadashi, then the person can get rid of money and happiness and peace remains in the house.
On the evening of Varuthini Ekadashi, light a lamp of ghee or sesame oil in front of the basil plant. While lighting the lamp, meditate on Lord Vishnu and chant the mantra “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya”. Poorness is removed by doing this.
On this day, offer Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu. It has been said in the scriptures that Lord Vishnu does not accept the enjoyment without Tulsi. Worship is considered complete by using Tulsi in worship.
After bathing in the morning, offer pure water to the basil plant. While offering water, chant the mantra “Om Tulsi Namah”. This brings mental peace and communicates positive energy in the house.
It is considered auspicious to tie Molly (Kalava) near the basil plant on Varuthini Ekadashi. This removes the negative energy of the house and does not affect any kind of evil eye on the family.
On this day, donate things to Tulsi to the poor like Tulsi Dal, Tulsi garland, basil -rich prasad etc. This destroys sins and brings wealth, good fortune and happiness.
