Aam Ki Khatti Meethi Chutney is a summer favourite in many Indian households and pairs perfectly well with parathas, snacks, dal rice, khichadi and many more. Prepared with raw mangoes, jaggery, and a blend of aromatic spices, it is easy to prepare and has a refreshing taste.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium raw mangoes (peeled and chopped)
  • ½ cup jaggery (you can adjust as per taste)
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp black salt
  • ½ tsp regular salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp oil

Instructions:

  • Take a pan and heat the oil in it.
  • Add cumin and fennel seeds to the oil once it is heated and let them splutter.
  • Now, add chopped raw mangoes and saute them for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add turmeric, red chilli powder, black salt, and regular salt.
  • Mix it nicely to blend all the flavours.
  • Now, pour water and cook until the mangoes turn soft.
  • Add jaggery, stir well, and cook until the pieces melt and it gets a thick consistency.
  • Turn off the flame and let the chutney cool a bit.
  • Store it nicely in a clean container to extend its shelf life.
