Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh believes that legendary ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar might have the potential in him to play like Chris Gayle. Arjun is currently playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for Mumbai Indians (MI), however, he is yet to feature in the playing XI this season.

Yograj Singh has previously coached Arjun Tendulkar, and has recently provided insights into his training sessions. He revealed that the coaching is focused in encouraging Arjun to develop his batting abilities. On top of that, Yuvraj expressed that Tendulkar junior might even be the next Chris Gayle, considering the fact that Sachin Tendulkar trusts Yuvraj on coaching his son.

With regards to Arjun, I said, focus less on his bowling and more on his batting. But if Yuvraj – he and Sachin are so close – takes Sachin’s son under his wings for three months, I bet he will become the next Chris Gayle. Often it happens that a fast bowler, if he undergoes a stress fracture, cannot bowl as effectively. I think that Arjun should be handed over to Yuvraj for a while,” Yograj told CricketNext.

Yuvraj Singh had previously revealed that Arjun Tendulkar had stopped training under him due to him being concerned that his personality will get like that of his coach. Arjun had taken this decision amidst his quite inconsistent performance in the domestic cricket.
