Over the last eight years, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has been instrumental in fostering industrial growth and employment creation in the state.
51,761 young people are now employed as a result of the 798 plots that have been distributed to different companies according to UPSIDA’s industry-friendly policies. The CEO of UPSIDA, Mayur Maheshwari, said that industrial companies from other states have invested in Uttar Pradesh due to the state’s improved peace and order and business-friendly atmosphere.
UPSIDA has proactively created land banks in a number of areas to guarantee efficient plot distribution. Just 191 industrial sites totaling 114 acres were allotted in 2017–18. Many of the industries are already in operation, and since then, 798 plots totaling 526 acres have been assigned to different industrial units.
Between 2017 and 2018, UPSIDA generated 11,570 jobs; over the same time period, 51,761 jobs were created. Additionally, UPSIDA’s earnings grew from Rs 586 crores in 2019–20 to Rs 1,900 crores in 2024–25, demonstrating how well the government’s industrial policies have worked to create an open, easy-to-use, and welcoming environment for investors.
