Under the current power reform program, transformer capacity is being increased to guarantee a continuous supply of energy across the Amethi area. The project also intends to provide rural communities with energy around the clock, with major upgrades being made to the current infrastructure.

23 new 400 KVA transformers are being placed as part of the project, while additional enhancements are still being worked on. Over 333,000 customers are served by the district’s four power distribution blocks, which are Gauriganj, Jagdishpur, Amethi, and Tiloi.

Comprehensive measures are being taken to increase power dependability, such as building new power lines, increasing transformer capacity, fixing low voltage problems, fortifying the system, and installing armored cables to guarantee safe power distribution. Smart prepaid meters are now being implemented to help with accurate and timely invoicing.

The following improvements to transformer capacity are planned for the fiscal year 2024–2025:

Three transformers in Gauriganj were upgraded from 100 KVA to 250 KVA.

– Amethi: one was updated from 250 KVA to 400 KVA, and 19 were improved from 100 KVA to 250 KVA.

Three were improved from 100 KVA to 250 KVA at Jagdishpur, while two were upgraded from 250 KVA to 400 KVA.

Twenty were improved from 250 KVA to 400 KVA, and seven were upgraded from 100 KVA to 250 KVA.

Six transportable (trolley-mounted) transformers are available for the division to guarantee prompt restoration in the event of a fault: two each of 100 KVA, 250 KVA, and 400 KVA. These are placed in strategic cities as required.
