Olympic gold medallist , shooter Abhinav Bindra ’s biopic has been in the news for many years. Now, we have learnt that the film, which was to be headlined by Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor , has finally been shelved. The Bhavesh Joshi Superhero actor was supposed to co-produce the film with his father, Anil Kapoor . Over the years, speculation about the delay and possible cancellation surfaced multiple times. In an earlier interview with us, Harsh had expressed his commitment to the film, saying, “I want the Abhinav Bindra biopic to be a theatrical. We are trying to develop a narrative that is true to who Abhinav is.”

However, it’s now confirmed that the film is no longer in development, despite everyone involved trying to make it work. A source told BT, “The script lacked the drama and energy required for it to translate into a feature film. At best, it would work as a docudrama . Everyone tried to make it work, but after much deliberation, it was concluded that it won’t work.”
When we reached out to Harsh, he confirmed the news and said, “Yes, the Bindra biopic has been shelved.” The actor, who was last seen in the critically acclaimed OTT film Thar, is now focusing on some other interesting projects which are in the pipeline.
