Bhiwandi: On Friday, a little girl was killed and ten people were wounded when a private bus transporting picnickers collided with a divider along the Mumbai-Nashik highway in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra.
IGM Hospital’s medical officer, Dr. Mohammad Izhar Ansari, told ANI that a bus had an accident because its brakes had failed. Ten patients have visited the hospital so far; one girl has passed away, and the others are receiving treatment.
According to the medical officer, a brake failure caused the collision.
According to one of the victims, “We chose to take the bus since we were having some problems at home. The bus we were on seemed to be empty, and the driver made no note of its poor state. I would never have gotten on the bus if I had known that the driver was intoxicated. The motorist struck the overpass pillar after taking the incorrect route. My wife and daughter were seriously injured in the collision. The collision caused damage to the whole bus.
Rais Shaikh, the MLA for Bhiwandi East, also visited the hospital to speak with the wounded.
Rais Shaikh, MLA for Bhiwandi East, stated, “The tragedy happened when a number of passengers were aboard the bus. I can confirm that we have many patients with fractures, including a female who has a spinal injury and is being sent to the civil hospital, but I am unable to share many specifics at this time. Although the death of a little girl is heartbreaking, I had a conversation with the civil surgeon. The remaining injuries don’t pose a danger to life.
We are doing all we can to help the wounded, who are aware and alert. At this point, none of the injuries are life-threatening; however, one patient is being transported for further care. Additionally, the girl who suffered a spinal fracture will heal. The loss of life in this unfortunate catastrophe is heartbreaking. The medical staff at IGM is keeping a careful eye on the issue, and more physicians have been called in to help. We will keep giving everyone impacted the attention they need.”
