Chennai Super Kings (Captain) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni achieved a major achievement during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday. This is Dhoni's 400th T20 match and he is the 25th player to achieve this feat. Before him, 24 players have played 400 or more T20 matches in their career.

Dhoni has won the IPL title five times and is the most successful captain of this league. Dhoni left the command of CSK just before the last season, after which Rituraj Gaikwad was made the captain of the team.

Fourth Indian to play 400 T20s

Dhoni has become the fourth Indian player to play 400 T20 matches. Before him, Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik, and Virat Kohli have achieved the feat of playing 400 matches in this format. The record of the Indian who has played the most T20 matches is held by Rohit, who has played 456 T20 matches so far. In this case, Karthik is in second place who has played 412 matches and Virat Kohli is in third place who has played 407 matches. Now Dhoni's name has also been added to this list.

Dhoni is playing as an uncapped player
Dhoni retired from international cricket a few years ago. According to IPL rules, a player who has retired five years or more ago is considered an uncapped player, so CSK retained Dhoni as an uncapped player before the mega auction for IPL 2025. Dhoni recently indicated that he can play for a few more years
