RBI Guidelines: The government has issued a high alert against fake notes of Rs 500. These fake notes look similar to the real ones but can be identified by some special differences. The Government and RBI have given information to the citizens about the differences between real and fake notes so that they can be alert and avoid fraud.

How to identify the difference between real and fake notes of Rs 500-

- According to recent information, some spelling mistakes are being reported in fake notes. In fake notes, the spelling of RESERVE BANK OF INDIA, RESERVE, has 'A' written instead of 'E'. By paying attention to this small but important mistake, you can also identify fake and real notes.

- Real and fake notes can be identified by the security thread. There is a thread in the middle of the real note, which changes color from green to blue when tilted. 'Bharat' and 'RBI' are written on this thread. In contrast, in a fake note, the security thread may become blurred, and the color does not change. Apart from this, the words written on the thread are unclear, which makes identification difficult.

- When we keep a real 500 rupee note in front of the light, Mahatma Gandhi's picture and an electrotype watermark of Rs 500 are visible on the right side. In a fake note, this watermark may appear unclear, missing, or blurred.

- On a real 500 rupee note, Bharat and India are hidden in microscopic letters. They can be seen with a magnifying glass. But on a fake note, these letters may disappear or become unclear.

- The printing of a real note is clear, and of high quality. In which Ashoka Pillar, the figure of the Red Fort, and Mahatma Gandhi's picture are all visible. But on a fake note, this picture may appear faded and the print may appear blurred.

- The original Rs 500 note has the Ashoka Pillar Mahatma Gandhi's photo and other symbols embossed on it. These are made to help visually impaired people identify the note. These symbols are visible by stroking the note. This embossed printing may be less or missing in a fake note.

- The original note has the Swachh Bharat logo, language panel in the center, picture of the Red Fort, and year of printing written on it. Some of these may be missing or unclear or in the wrong place in a fake note.

What to do if you get a fake note?

Whenever you take a note from someone, check its features thoroughly, such as watermark, security stripe, and other identification marks. If despite this you get a fake note, immediately report to the nearest bank or police station. To avoid such problems, give priority to the option of digital payment for your transactions.
