The Income Tax Sports & Recreation Club (ITS&RC) in New Delhi, India, is celebrating with pride the gold medals won by its winning athletes, Mr. Aniket Gupta and Ms. Deepika Dhiman, at the prestigious USA Open 2025 International Karate Championship, which took place from April 16–20 at the Hotel Paris in Las Vegas.
In the Advanced-Team Kata Division, Deepika and Aniket, both skilled members of the Senior Indian National Karate Team and employees of the Ministry of Finance’s Income Tax Department, demonstrated flawless technical proficiency and outstanding collaboration. In addition to guaranteeing the top spot on the podium, the performance was their fifth gold medal in the USA Open history, joining their accomplishments from 2015, 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2025. The victory served as a remarkable monument to their consistent efforts, tenacity, and incredible high skill set.
As representatives of the “Karate India Organization (KIO)” and “Xtreme Martial Arts India,” XMA Academy, they both demonstrated the greatest levels of sportsmanship in tandem with technical proficiency. These accomplishments by the pair demonstrate the increasing and revolutionary status of Indian athletes on the global karate scene and the critical role that institutional support plays in fostering athletic potential across the nation.
The “USA National Karate Federation,” in collaboration with the “United States Olympic Committee,” produced this year’s USA Open, which attracted over 3,500 competitors from 35 nations, making it one of the biggest, most prestigious, most competitive karate competitions in the world.
In addition to supporting international-level sporting competition, the tournament included a variety of events, such as Kata, Kumite, and Team divisions, which enhanced cross-cultural interaction and solidarity among martial arts practitioners and experts from many nations and backgrounds.
ITS&RC thanked the crucial assistance of the team members, including coaches, mentors, family members, KIO, XMA, and the Department of Income Tax, and offered its sincere congratulations to Deepika and Aniket for their remarkable achievement. Their efforts highlight the confluence between discipline, training, and steadfast dedication. The institutional level’s excitement and support in attaining this level of athletic performance is flawless.
In order to motivate the next generation of martial artists worldwide, Deepika Dhiman and Aniket Gupta are dedicated to increasing Indian presence in international athletic competitions. For all Indian karate enthusiasts, their victory in winning gold in the USA Open 2025 is a proud occasion as well as a personal accomplishment. It demonstrates India’s rising popularity as a martial arts sport.
