Garuda Puran: There are a total of 18 Puranas described in Hinduism. Garuda Purana is considered very important among these 18 Mahapuranas. Garuda Purana is the only text that tells about the karma of a human being and the good and bad results he gets based on it.
According to astrologers, this Purana advises man to live his life by doing good deeds and also tells what punishment God has prescribed for those who do adharma or sinful deeds. Garuda Purana also mentions devotion to Lord Vishnu and auspicious deeds that please him.
Astrologers believe that, in this book, the punishment for the sin has also been described. One of these is suicide. Which people are doing today. Suicide comes under the category of a great sin.
Those who commit suicide by harming the precious human body given by God are considered sinners. Such people are in a bad condition after their untimely death. In such a situation, let us know from Bhagavatacharya Pandit Raghavendra Shastri what happens to those who commit suicide in hell in Garuda Purana.
Know what happens in hell to those who commit suicide
According to Pandit Raghavendra Shastri, according to Garuda Purana, the souls of those who die before completing the 7 cycles of their lives have to suffer terrible pain. People who die before their time, such as by burning in fire, hanging, consuming poison, snake bite, etc., all these people come under the category of untimely death.
Raghavendra Shastri says that, human body is not easily obtained. To get a human body, a soul has to wander in 84 lakh births and only then God blesses him with a human body.
The sinner has to suffer a lot for destroying such a precious body. According to Garuda Purana, a person who commits suicide is sent to 13 different places and has to spend 60,000 years in the most terrible of the 7 hells.
Generally, the soul takes a new body within 30 or 40 days after death. But the souls of those people who have committed suicide keep wandering for an indefinite period. Such sinful souls are neither given a place in hell nor in heaven; these souls keep wandering between this world and the other world. Therefore, suicide is placed in the category of Mahapaap in Hinduism.
