DA Hike News: There’s good news ahead for around 7.5 lakh employees and officers of Madhya Pradesh. The state government is preparing to announce a significant hike in Dearness Allowance (DA), bringing much-awaited relief for its employees.
Recently, the state government issued orders to increase the DA for All India Services (AIS) officers to 55%, effective from 1 January 2025. Currently, state employees are receiving DA at a rate of 50%, but they have long been demanding parity with central government employees.
On 17 April 2025, official orders were issued to revise the DA for AIS officers from 53% to 55%. As per the notification, the arrears for January, February, and March 2025 will be added to the salary for April 2025.
Sources from the state secretariat have indicated that the Finance Department has completed all preparations for the DA hike. As soon as Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav gives his approval, a one-time 5% DA hike will be implemented for all state employees, ensuring their DA matches that of their central counterparts.
However, it's not all smooth sailing. Umashankar Tiwari, General Secretary of the Tertiary Employees Association, pointed out that although allowances pending for 13 years were recently increased, there is still uncertainty regarding vehicle allowance and disability allowance.
Despite cabinet approval, the official orders for these two allowances have not yet been issued. As a result, employees may not receive the benefits of these allowances with their April salary. This delay has caused widespread confusion across various departments in the state.
April is almost over, but no official orders have been issued for vehicle and disability allowances.
Employees are unlikely to see the increased allowances reflected in their April salary.
Departments across the state are facing confusion due to the pending notifications.
While the imminent DA hike will bring much-needed financial relief to lakhs of employees in Madhya Pradesh, the delay in finalizing other allowances continues to be a concern. Employees are hopeful that the government will soon resolve the pending issues to provide complete financial benefits as promised.
