Himachal Pradesh had recently implemented a dress code for teachers in which provocative clothes and expensive jewelry were prohibited. Now a dress code has been issued for teachers in Chandigarh as well, which has been implemented on all government teachers. The dress code states that teachers will have to wear formal for men and salwar kameez for women in school. The education department has issued an order for this in which this has been mentioned.

The order issued by the Chandigarh Education Department states that male staff will have to wear formal shirts and trousers inside the schools while female staff will have to wear traditional clothes like sarees, and and salwar kameez. The department has said that this change is being made so that the dressing of the teachers who are teaching in the school is to be made the same. Apart from this, a professional atmosphere has to be created in the school and a better education environment has to be given to the children.

The education department has also issued a press note regarding this order. In which the department has said that this step has been taken to make the environment of schools more professional. The department has said that on the advice of the Chandigarh Administrator, the department has taken this step and implemented a beautiful dress code for teachers. This dress code was first implemented in Chandigarh's PM Shri Government Model Senior Secondary School Sector 14. The department has said that this initiative has been appreciated by the Governor of Punjab and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria.

Will be implemented in the new academic year
The Education Department said that Gulab Chand Kataria has said that a kind of dress code will promote equality among teachers in schools as well as increase professionalism among them. The department has said that this dress code will be implemented in all government schools before the start of schools after this summer vacation. In which everyone will follow it in the new academic year.
